IF you attach the light without the ground it will dim all the other lights on the bike when you press the brake pedal (Has to ground someplace) this could be very bad. I would either attach it somwhere you cant see (Backside of rear seat rest mtg bolts?) or run another wire with the other 2 to under the rear seat & attach it to a ground there.
